After picking up your rental car, there is no time to waste. You are ready to leave for a first stop that will take you towards the splendid Tuscan coast. Head towards Viareggio, a seaside resort that combines elegance, sea and a lively tourist tradition. During the journey, you will admire evocative landscapes that range from the green hills of Tuscany to the coastline that extends to the horizon. Once you arrive in Viareggio, take some time to stroll along the seafront, among Art Nouveau villas and bathing establishments, and treat yourself to a dinner of fresh fish in one of the numerous seaside restaurants. If you fancy a bit’ of relaxation, a walk on the beach at sunset is a perfect way to end the day. Hotel accommodation and overnight stay.

An Unforgettable Trip to the Heart of Tuscany
Breakfast at the hotel. The second day of your tour is dedicated to two of the most famous cities in Tuscany: Pisa and Lucca. Start the day with a visit to the famous Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa, where you can admire the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral and the Baptistery, universal symbols of Romanesque architecture. Don’t forget to take a fun photo with the tower, as per tradition! Free lunch. In the afternoon, take the car and head towards Lucca, just 30 minutes away. Lucca is a city that stands out for its fascinating medieval atmosphere and the Renaissance walls that surround the historic center. Walking through its narrow and cobbled streets, you will feel like you are taking a step back in time. Don’t miss a visit to the Guinigi Tower, from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city, and if you have time, take a walk on the walls which offer an excellent view of the surrounding countryside. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

The Magic of the Cinque Terre
Breakfast at the hotel. The third day takes you to discover one of the most fascinating corners of Liguria: the Cinque Terre. Leave early from Viareggio and head towards the port of La Spezia, from where you can easily reach the Cinque Terre by train or ferry, a succession of five colorful seaside villages clinging to the cliffs: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore. Each village has its own unique character. In Monterosso, you can relax on the beach; in Vernazza, admire the marina and the Doria Castle; in Corniglia, the only village not directly on the sea, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views; in Manarola, walk among the vineyards and colorful houses; and in Riomaggiore, explore the typical “tower houses”. Don’t forget to savor a plate of trofie with pesto, a typical dish of the area, accompanied by a glass of local wine. If you have time, walk along the Blue Path, a network of paths that connects the villages and offers some of the most incredible views in the region. In the evening, return to La Spezia for a typical fish-based dinner, perhaps trying the fried paranza or a fresh Ligurian focaccia. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

Carrara Marble and the Beauty of Lerici
Breakfast at the hotel. The fourth day will take you to discover Carrara marble and fascinating coastal locations. In the morning, you will head towards the Carrara Marble Quarries, one of the most evocative places in Tuscany. Here you can take part in a guided tour (optional excursion) to discover the marble extraction process, from the majestic open-air quarries to the underground tunnels. It’s an impressive experience. Free lunch. In the afternoon you will move towards Lerici, an enchanting town on the Gulf of Poets. Lerici will welcome you with its imposing medieval castle overlooking the sea, its sandy beaches and its lively seafront. Stroll through the historic center, explore the artisan shops and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of this village. The evening in Lerici offers the opportunity to enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the sea, savoring the flavors of Ligurian cuisine, such as focaccia and fresh fish. Return to the hotel and overnight stay.

The fifth day marks the end of your journey. After spending a final morning in Viareggio, perhaps walking through its markets or enjoying a final fish lunch, begin your return journey to Pisa airport for the return of your car and boarding formalities. On this day of return, nostalgia for the places visited and enthusiasm for returning home mix.
