The Enchantment of Tuscany and the Magic of the Cinque Terre

Departure is an exciting time for many travellers. It marks the beginning of an adventure. Today you will start to be part of a community, which will give you a rewarding travel experience. After your welcome at the airport, we will head to the Hotel in the area of Viareggio, to present the rich and exciting program of the week. Typical dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we will leave for Pisa, the city of Galileo Galilei, known all over the world for its “leaning tower”. Pisa has preserved intact the charm of medieval city thanks to the beauty and uniqueness of its monuments. In the company of our local guide, we will discover the beauties of the famous Piazza dei Miracoli – declared world heritage by UNESCO: the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, absolute masterpiece of the Pisan Romanesque style, the Baptistery, the Bell Tower, the “leaning tower” (external). In the late morning we will arrive at a farmhouse in the area of Lucca, to have lunch and visit the estate and taste local products. In the afternoon departure to Lucca, a medieval city of unique beauty. We will visit the heart of its historic center and the Renaissance walls, still intact and transformed into a long tree-lined avenue. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, we will leave for the port of La Spezia. Here we will meet a guide who will accompany us during the boat trip (8 hours in total), to discover the Cinque Terre charming stretch of coast rich in ancient fishing villages suspended between land and sea, Perched on steep and rocky cliffs overhanging a crystal clear sea. Departure for Monterosso, the largest village of the Cinque Terre and also the oldest, here we will visit the historic center with two-color churches, the castle and the monastery. Typical lunch. Departure for Portovenere, the fortified seaside village that has fascinated myriad visitors. We will walk along the famous “palazzata” on the sea front, until we reach the Church of San Pietro, a small medieval church overlooking the sea. Return to La Spezia and transfer by bus to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast we will head to Carrara, home of the precious white marble from which some of the most beautiful and famous works in the world have taken shape. A local guide will take us to discover the historic center of the city and the famous quarries, exploited for over two thousand years for the precious stone that has made the city famous throughout the world.
Lunch in Carrara. In the afternoon continue to the village of Lerici, one of the most loved and renowned resorts of the Riviera di Levante for its views and beaches with clear waters. The centre is a collection of narrow streets and alleys, buildings with colourful facades, restaurants and traditional shops. Free time to visit the small harbour or walk along the shore to the nearby village of San Terenzo, admiring all the beauty of the “Gulf of the Poets”. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

On this day of return, nostalgia for the places visited and enthusiasm for returning home mix. We will accompany you to the airport to help you with boarding logistics. Today we close a chapter and open a new one, we will say goodbye, but you are part of our Community, you will carry with you the promise of new future adventures even more extraordinary.
