With this trip, in addition to visiting enchanting places of ancient culture and traditions, you will embark on a sensory adventure in the heart of Calabria, a journey that will take you through a mosaic of unforgettable flavors and scents.
Start your cooking in the town of Paola, where San Francesco was born, where you can taste typical sweets such as “mostaccioli” and liqueur to licorice.
In Tropea you will be captivated by the intense aroma of red onion, sweet and crisp, and you can taste the “nduja”, a spicy sausage that inflames the palate.
Once in Reggio Calabria you can taste bergamot, a citrus with an intoxicating scent, used to prepare liqueurs, cakes and jams.
We will then go to Bianco where you will delight the palate with the Greco di Bianco DOC, a wine with an intense and aromatic flavor and then we will arrive at Ciminà where in a typical dairy you will discover the “caciocavallo di Ciminà”, a spun cheese with a strong and spicy flavor.
In Gerace you will taste the “pitta di Gerace”, a focaccia filled with vegetables and cheese, while in Mammola you will taste the famous Mammola stocco, a cod dried and processed according to ancient traditions.
In Siderno you can taste the homemade ice cream, prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients, and the “pitta di Siderno”, a focaccia filled with vegetables and cheese.
At Serra San Bruno you can taste the “pecorino del Monte Poro”, a hard cheese with a strong flavor, while at Pizzo Calabro you will taste the famous “tartufo di Pizzo”, an artisanal ice cream filled with chocolate and hazelnuts.
Finally we will make a detour in Campania to go to Paestum: you can not miss the opportunity to taste the buffalo mozzarella campana DOP, a fresh and creamy cheese with an unmistakable flavor.
